Privacy Policy
In short
- No account and no sign-in. No ads, no analytics, no tracking.
- Your Avrits, history, notes and photos are kept on your device.
- iCloud sync (iPhone and iPad) is optional and end-to-end encrypted. Photos never sync.
- Optional Avrit AI is not available yet. If it is switched on later, it stays off until you say yes, and each request sends only what it lists, only when you ask. Health Avrits are never sent.
- Reminders are scheduled by your device. Nothing is sent to us to remind you.
- We do not sell or rent personal data, and we do not use it for advertising.
1. Who we are
Avrit is made by Big Helpers Software and Solutions Private Limited (“Big Helpers”, “we”, “us”), CIN U72200MP2008PTC021190, registered office HIG-2, M.P. Housing Board Colony, Tikuri, Katni 483501, Madhya Pradesh, India. Contact: admin@bighelpers.in, +91 99939 82666.
For the small amount of personal data that reaches us (described below), Big Helpers is the Data Fiduciary under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
2. No account, no tracking
- Avrit has no sign-up or sign-in, and there is no Avrit profile on our servers.
- The app contains no advertising, analytics or crash-reporting code from any third party. It does not use an advertising identifier and does not track you across other apps or websites.
- The only network requests the app makes are the Avrit AI requests you choose to send (section 7), links you open in your browser, and iCloud sync if you turn it on (handled by Apple, section 6).
3. What stays on your device
Everything you put into Avrit is stored inside the app on your device:
| What | Where it is kept | Does it leave your device? |
|---|---|---|
| Your Avrits: names, areas, rhythms, dates and order | App storage on your device | Only with iCloud sync on, encrypted (section 6), and in your own device backups |
| History: days you finished, on-time marks, points and notes | App storage on your device | Same as above |
| Photos of moments and profile photos | An on-device database in the app, resized to at most 1,280 pixels on the long side | Never synced. A single photo is sent only if you ask for an Avrit AI photo note (section 7) |
| Profile: your name, gender and what you would like a little more of (all optional) | App storage on your device | Only with iCloud sync on, encrypted. Never sent to Avrit AI or to us |
| Rewards: points, levels, badges and runs | App storage on your device | Only with iCloud sync on, encrypted |
| Settings: sound, haptics, motion, celebrations, reminder time, iCloud and AI choices | App storage on your device | No |
| Random IDs made on your device: one that tells your devices apart for sync, and an install ID for Avrit AI’s fair-use limits | App storage on your device | The install ID goes only with Avrit AI requests. Neither contains anything about you |
Device backups. Like other apps, Avrit’s data may be included in your device’s own backup if you use one, for example iCloud Backup or a computer backup on iPhone and iPad, or Android’s backup to your Google account (Avrit allows Android’s standard app backup). Those backups belong to your Apple or Google account and are controlled by your device settings. Big Helpers cannot access them.
4. Permissions
| Permission | Why |
|---|---|
| Notifications | To remind you on the day an Avrit is due, at the time you choose. You decide whether to allow them. |
| Camera | “Add a photo to remember the care you completed.” Only when you take a photo. |
| Photos | “Choose photos for your Avrit profile or completion journal.” Only the photos you pick. |
| Internet | Only for Avrit AI requests you choose to send, and links you open. |
| Vibration (Android) | Haptic feedback for taps, swipes and celebrations. You can turn haptics off in Settings › Feel. |
| Run at start-up (Android) | To put your scheduled reminders back after your phone restarts or the app updates. |
5. Reminders
Reminders are local notifications, scheduled on your device by iOS or Android. There is no push server: nothing is sent to us to remind you. The device’s reminder system receives only each Avrit’s internal ID, name, time, area, symbol and a short line such as “Due today · a little care, on repeat (every week).” It never receives your profile, photos, notes or history.
6. iCloud sync (iPhone and iPad, optional)
iCloud sync keeps your Avrits in step across your iPhone and iPad. It is off until you switch on Settings › iCloud sync › Sync with iCloud. It is not available on Android, where your Avrits stay on your device.
What is synced
- Your Avrits and their settings, and markers for Avrits you deleted, so a deletion reaches your other devices too.
- History: the days you finished each Avrit, on-time marks, points and notes. Photos themselves are not synced; another device shows “On another device” in their place.
- Your profile’s name, gender and what you would like a little more of, if you filled them in.
- Rewards: badges, best runs and which celebrations you have already seen.
- Whether you finished setup, and the time of the last change.
What is not synced
Photos, your settings (including your iCloud and AI choices), the Avrit AI install ID, and reminders (each device schedules its own).
How it is protected
- Avrit encrypts the whole synced copy on your device with AES-GCM and a 256-bit key before it goes anywhere.
- The key is created on your device and kept in your iCloud Keychain, which Apple end-to-end encrypts, so it reaches only your own devices.
- Apple’s iCloud key-value storage receives only the encrypted copy, plus a few labels needed to sync safely: a format version, the encryption method, a short fingerprint of the key (not the key itself), the time of the last change, and a random ID for the device that wrote it.
- Big Helpers runs no server in this path, has no copy of the key, and cannot read or delete your iCloud copy.
- Avrit never makes a second key when your iCloud already holds Avrit data. A new device waits for the key to arrive through iCloud Keychain and does not overwrite your other devices in the meantime.
Turning sync off stops syncing on that device. It does not delete the copy already in your iCloud. See Delete your data.
7. Optional Avrit AI (not yet available)
Avrit AI is an optional helper that is not available yet. When it is switched on, it will use a third-party AI service through Avrit’s server to suggest a starting plan, a rhythm for an Avrit, or a draft note from a photo. It is off until you say yes, and nothing is sent until you tap. There are two separate choices: plans and timing, and photo notes. Without them, Avrit suggests from its own catalog on your device.
Status: Avrit AI’s server is not switched on. Avrit tells you AI suggestions are not available and uses its own ideas instead. If you allowed Avrit AI in the app, a request may still reach our server; it is answered “not found” and nothing from it is kept beyond the standard access-log line described below. The rest of this section describes how Avrit AI will work when it is switched on.
Exactly what each request sends
| Feature | Sent when | What is sent |
|---|---|---|
| Plan (during setup) | You choose “Use Avrit AI” | Your quiz answers; your “Anything else?” note, if you wrote one (up to 300 characters); the names of your current Avrits, except health and ended ones; your language setting; the random install ID |
| Timing (“Find a rhythm for me”) | You tap to ask | This Avrit’s name and area, anything you type as context (up to 500 characters), and the install ID |
| Photo note (“Describe this photo”) | You tap “Send photo to Avrit AI” | That one photo and this Avrit’s name, and the install ID |
Never sent: your name, gender, profile photos, history, notes, other photos, or health Avrits. Timing for a health Avrit is answered on your device without any request, and photo notes are not offered for health Avrits. If you pick health appointments in the setup questions, those choices go to Avrit’s server so it can add the reminders itself; the server never passes them, or the names of health Avrits, to the AI service. Please leave anything private out of the notes you type for Avrit AI.
What happens on Avrit’s server
- Requests go over HTTPS to Avrit’s server at bighelpers.in, run by Big Helpers. It checks each request, removes location and other metadata from a photo, forwards only the fields listed above to the AI service, and returns the answer to your device.
- The AI service receives the request content, but not your install ID or your network (IP) address.
- Avrit’s server keeps no copy of requests, answers, names or photos.
- To enforce fair-use limits it keeps small counters, each named by a salted one-way code of your install ID or network address, never the ID or address itself. Minute counters are deleted after 5 minutes and daily counters after 2 days.
- Our internal AI gateway records only technical details: which feature was used, which service answered, usage counts and whether it worked.
- Like any web server, it keeps standard access logs: network address, time, the address requested (such as /avrit/ai/plan), the result and the app or browser type. These logs never contain what you sent.
- Limits: 30 requests a day and 6 a minute per install, and 80 a day per network address. When a limit is reached, Avrit tells you and uses its own ideas.
We use your Avrit AI requests only to answer them. We process them with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time in Settings › AI help (“Turn off plans and timing”, “Turn off photo notes”). Answers are drafts: nothing changes in Avrit until you choose to use them. More in How Avrit AI works.
8. Sharing you start
- Reels and status cards are made on your device from your own history. They are shared only when you tap Share (through your device’s share sheet, to the app you pick) or saved when you tap Save.
- Know-how links in an Avrit open the source website in your browser. That site’s own privacy policy applies.
- Email or calls to us: we use what you send only to reply and help.
We do not sell or rent personal data, share it with data brokers, use it for advertising, or use it to train AI models.
9. This website
arvit.bighelpers.in is a set of static pages. It uses no cookies, no analytics, no advertising and no third-party scripts or fonts. Like any web server, ours keeps standard access logs (network address, time, page requested, browser type) for security and to keep the site running.
10. Children
Avrit is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. Under India’s data protection law, a child is anyone under 18: if you are under 18, please ask a parent or guardian before turning on Avrit AI. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, write to us and we will delete it.
11. How long data is kept
- On your device: until you delete it in the app, or delete the app.
- In your iCloud (if you used sync): until you clear it. See Delete your data.
- Avrit AI fair-use counters: 5 minutes (per-minute) and 2 days (per-day). Requests, answers and photos: not kept.
- Web server access logs: kept as monthly archives on our server for security and operations. You can ask us to delete entries (see Delete your data).
- Emails you send us: as long as needed to help you and keep a record of the conversation.
12. Your rights
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can ask us for a summary of the personal data we process about you, ask us to correct, complete or erase it, withdraw consent, nominate someone to act for you, and have your grievances addressed. Most of your Avrit data never reaches us: it is on your devices and you control it directly in the app. For anything we hold, such as emails or server logs, write to our grievance officer below. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may approach the Data Protection Board of India.
